Dying
Why can’t dying be simple?
Like bursting a tiny pimple.
Instead of a long drawn out death
As you wait to take your last breathe
When you’re suffering a terminal illness,
Do you long for that permanent stillness?
Having to suffer such pain
To get to the end you attain.
Would euthanasia be a better way?
Or do you cherish every minute of the day?
Life can really be cruel,
When you face that final duel.

Andrew,
You have a whole lot of heavy shit in this piece and I'm sure that in the right quarters it would start many a diatribe...both pro and con. It's good to write a piece that makes the reader think and perhaps take a stand.
Write on,
Pete

To be honest, I'm not quite sure how I feel about what I wrote, as I said a friends father just died, after a long illness, you hear people saying at the end when he was very ill, that it would be better for him if he died, asap, now i know they mean well, but I tried to put myself in his situation, would I be totally fed up, or would I be clinging to living, it made me think, I suppose you will only know when its you facing that decision.
