A Writer Blocked
I wanted to write a poem today
But I’m struggling to think of something to say
I’ve been sitting here for what seems an age
Staring at this still blank page
I think of something, I start to try
But it’s been so long, the inks gone dry
I get a pencil and start to re-cap
Beginning again, I hear a snap
The lead in the pencil now has broke
This is starting to get beyond a joke
Maybe I’ll come back and try again later
When I’ve found a pen and am thinking straighter
