I lay awake thinking
thinking of where I am
I think of my empty belly
how there is nothing now
I think of you
why your not here
I think about the family
are they hurting also
I think can one call change this
will you even pick up
I lay here with tears
tears from thinking of you
tears from hurt and joy
I look up to see nothing
is there a heaven
Tears fall harder
they come in a stream now
from thinking of everything
I think of my family again
can life really be this way
I close my eyes
why can't I sleep
all I wanted was you again
now all I have are my tears
my tears caused because of you
you not coming for me
saving me from myself
I close my eyes so hard they hurt
now maybe I’ll rest
pretend this never happened
to you I will say sorry
and to the empty belly
that has lost so much
that there is not enough tears
I’m sorry for the pain
the pain that has come over us
till the day we meet again
