there's a tiny little creature
She’s a tiny little creature
Barely breathing in and out
Her skin is tight and wrinkled and her hair is full of drought.
Her eyes are closed and mouth is open
Searching for some help
Her fingers, arms and shoulders are flailing in and out.
She’s tiny little creature
Not less than you or me.
She’s come to you by virtue not choice or charity.
Her life is in the hands of you, her mother and her keeper.
You’ve got to sit yourself up straight and fight to try to keep her.
This tiny little creature didn’t ask to come from you.
Do this little child and you the honor of doing what is true.
Your tiny little creature is waiting for your call.
Beg the doctor now; you’re in it for the haul.
Give the child your name and mother she will call.
One day to the next is truly happiness after all.
