Mandolin Reverie
Nightfall
An open window
Longing thoughts in a cold mind
Teased by summer breezes
Soft white threads
Gently brushing limpid melodies on mandolin strings
Outside
The hushed rhythms
Of rippling waves
But my ship is tethered
Waiting
To be
Someone
A precious soul
To be
The crystal colours of the wind at sunrise
The delicate waves of rosewater
The mellow music of the night
A cold mind packs a heart in ice
But ice
Slowly
Melts
In a mandolin reverie
The ship breaks free
Free of old moorings
To sail new horizens
New journeys
In the love of new sunlight
