The Artistry of Snow

Have you ever seen a powder blue mountain
Iced in snowy tears of crystal white?

Have you ever seen a willow
Weeping snowy webs of lace?

Have you ever seen the deep, haunting hues
Of rhododendrons
Dusted with slivers of snow?

Have you ever watched an echidna
Tiny legs
Stubbornly
Rocking and rolling
Up a snowy embankment

And smiled

Have you ever seen snowy fields
Etched with the tracks of travelers
And wondered

Do I follow?
Or dare
To leave
A sign
Of my own?
