In the shadow of bathing Buddha
find comfort in the knowledge that the sun
will always rise in the east and set in the west,
that the oceans energy recreates the world
with each rise and fall of the tides,
that someday the roads will need repair
and there will be no one left to fix them,
that the pot hole will rule the world,
that their reign will crumble beneath the grinding hooves of deer
and disappear below lush green forests.

In the shadow of bathing Buddh,
find solice in the fact that death still speaks to us
in spite of science and technology,
that the shadow of darkness can be shattered by the light of love,
that with age the ways of our mother and father
will rise from within like wild flowers in spring,
that the seed you've sown will grow strong
and reap the benefits of freedom,
that water will heal all gaping wounds
and rejuvenate those who seek its embrace.
