In voyaging that way
we sink to observers,
other options de facto absent.
We peer through
outdated machinery–
no higher minds,
but better tools–
still forced to loan
the lenses of ancients.

We continued to multiply. Now
the waiting list is long
for each new viewport.

In time,
we generally forget
how to travel back.
