Alcohol
For my Love
for my laughter
for my joy
for my hope.
For my purpose
for my charachter
for my mind
and for my Soul.
There's no point in pretending
what I already know.
I've been down this road before
and I don't want to go there again.
So for my Love
and for living,
for my vision,
and for my Lord
There is something worth protecting
more then silver, more then gold.
It is the Love which is inside of me
an amazing treasure to behold.
I can not let it wither
or dry up in alcohol.
For without my inner Love
I will surely take a fall.
I can not go back there
in the deep and darkest pit.
I was blessed to be rescued
from another's drunken fits.
My feet are still on the ground
but one push and I will fall.
Therefore, I must protect my inner Love;
which is the greatest treasure of all.
I don't mean to hurt You
or cause emotional pain.
I don't think You realize
how you've used my Love in vain.
It hurts me to see you stumble.
At times you can barely walk.
In your drunken stupors; you cause me such fear,
that I can barely talk.
Therefore I must be firm
something I must say;
I never know what to expect,
will you be coming home drunk today?
I can't live my life this way.
