A Child With Foster Parents

A child all dirty comes into your home,
Scared, frighten and feeling alone.
Wrapped in the system we call foster care,
At night they start missing that favorite teddy bear.

The next day the air is still cool,
It's now time to see the new school.
They start thinking - "I'm sorry, what did I do?"
I just want to go back to my old school.

I miss my friends and parents too,
It's all my fault - "What can I do?"
School wasn't bad, we went to the zoo,
I now have sisters who are my friends too.

The days, weeks, and months go by, we've learned by now not to cry.
My foster parents give me lots of understanding, love, and hugs too,
I now know it's up to my birth parents - they know what they
need to do.
because I now know it's not my fault I was placed with you.

It's time to go home now - back to my old school,
I'm going to miss my foster parents - who've I grown to love too.
As foster parents were never alone,
When one child is leaving, another scared child enters our home.
