Teenagers - Oh Boy!

Teens don't know their wants from their needs;
the only thing they want - is to just be pleased.
You give them this and you give them that;
and they use you like an old worn out mat.

You show them love...the way you think you should;
but they don't understand it, like you hope they would.
Moms and dads will love you till the end;
but when you disrespect how can you be friends?

We try and raise you with values of your own;
if you can't deal with yourself - you'll be all alone.
We try and be the best we can be;
but if we can't teach you, then what is our need?

We try and teach you what's best in life;
but, what good is it; if you want to run your own life?
You might be a teen who thinks they know best;
please grow up before you leave the nest.

Birds don't leave until they learn how to fly;
we've seen it all through grown up eyes.
We love you all as teens can be;
but, please grow up before you leave the tree.

Tell me about it!

Tell me about it, I think all parents know where your coming from, but then we were all like it when we were that age, good poem, enjoyed it.
