Everyone at the Wedding
Everyone at the Wedding
The ring bearer roars, thinking he’s a bear,
Giving the flower girl a scare,
Who thinks she’s a fairy.
The bride smiles happy and merry,
She hugs her mother,
And kisses her brother.
Her father slaps the groom on the back
And he’s dressed in white and black.
The groom’s father makes a toast,
“To the world’s sweetest couple,” is his boast.
A bottle is broken under the groom’s feet,
The sister-in-laws meet,
And arrange Christmas shopping trips to the mall.
Smiles and congratulations come from all,
The best man cheers,
As do his usher peers,
Guests through rice,
Picture perfect, everything so nice.
I watch it and cry,
A letting a little piece of me die.
Bridesmaid tears not of joy but of sorrow,
Knowing they’ll ride happily into tomorrow.
She is so beautiful, it’s easy too see,
Why he picked her over me.

GREAT WRITE!!!
Brilliant write! I love how real it seems. You're definitely a good poet. Great job! Keep it up!
A winter rose wilted, reflecting one's once cherrished love. Never will that flower again bloom after death.

Real talent
Dear Poetess, dear Emanation of Elato,
I like how you describe the details "slaps the groom on the back", "And arrange Christmas shopping trips to the mall" and others too. You are like a painter noticing all these pieces of subtlety. These details very precisely express the environment of the scene. I liked very much "Knowing they’ll ride happily into tomorrow". I am very curious to know what will become of them in some ten year after. After they have lived together in this consumer society where there is no aspiration for something spiritual, which is all about money, career and self-affirmation, which is killing our planet and wildlife.
I am looking forward to more poems from you
With all my respect
This is an old poem
When you don't want to focus on what's going on, you end up notticing a lot of little details. This is an old poem I put up, but a more recent one is One Year Later, I'll load it up ASAP.
With all sincerity,
