Dark Waters
Dark Waters
She can’t see the surface
Her hands reaching frantically up
To the ceiling of darkness
The veil of mysteries above her head
Her long fingers coming together
In a desperate attempt to part the waters
Opaque and menacing
Rippling and dancing around her
Giving birth to the limitless grace of her movements.
There is beauty in her fear
Within her round eyes and parted lips
There is chaos, an untapered display of emotion
As she rakes her hands through her hair
And ravages herself
Falling to her knees and crying out
Her small waist convulsing
To the erratic cadence of her heartbeat.
Her body wreathes
Begging for atonement for her sins
From an audience that weeps for her
That feels with her
Slipping into dark waters
She cries out in the throws of agony
She is drowning in her emotion
She is drowning in her passion
And she is drowning in her dance.
