Sorrow
Sorrow
Beneath the crimson autumn leaves,
Recalling Octobers long past,
and drawing up the present date.
The thirteenth is coming and leaving quickly,
And I pity it as I have all the rest,
A sweet veil of sadness covers this place.
It is a beautiful grave to my emotions.
Drowning my sorrows, my eyes fixate,
On a single leaf floating gently in the breeze,
Falling onwards and forever down in a spiral,
Crumbling like my most precious memories,
Ripped to shreds by the winds of time.
Like the friends that have been lost.
Like the beautiful things that once brought so much pleasure.
Gone, like that, with a change of the winds.
Reaching out a single hand,
To catch the pieces,
I bow my head and sigh,
Tired, unhappy, and wishing that I could be anywhere,
But here,
Reminded of all of the overwhelming sorrows in life.
