Fallen

Let the rains freefall like grace
To soothe all life's afflictions
Amidst the dark, I find a place
To hide my pain's depictions

Heartless world of blood and tears
Unconscious in your pain
Within this time of war and fears
Steady, the darkness reigns

Senseless deaths, the missing youth
What grief will come tomorrow?
For rich or poor, the truest truth's
No pill can ease this sorrow

Barren Earth that scorns me cold
And steals the warmth inside
You've left me with this pain I hold
With shame I can not hide

With eyes and tongue, you state your minds
The ugliness of me
Now pride and joy I can not find
For tears won't let me see

Endlessness befalls this heart
As numbness grips my soul
Alas, the strain has torn apart
All things that held me whole

Mercy! pleads the voice within
Let me no longer see
The hatred in this world of sin
Has bled the life from me

Mercy! pleads the voice within
Let me no longer feel
The hurt that makes a heart cave in
With pain that's oh so real

Traveling through the dark of night
To search for piece-of-mind
Onward towards divinest light
In hopes that there I'll find

A calming joy, a place of bliss
Where I could lift my head
And pull me from this cold abyss
From which my heart has bled

Great imagery and wonderful word choices, fantastic timing-meter is
great and you have created a piece that truly expresses the feeling
of falling, spiritual defeat, and hopelessness! Sad and yet beautiful,
this poem is very well composed! As the last verse, gives hope
of a divine nature!

Compelling.

Love your style very beautiful piece.
