Forever, are the tears I cry
That fall like burning embers
They stream unfettered, year to year
From New Year's through Decembers
The days are putrid, times' unclear
And joys I can't remember

Great seas of sorrows now have climbed
Beyond the northern mountains
They ripple high, in bounding waves
Untamed, like raging fountains
Unbridled and unleashed, they are
How many? I've stopped counting

Drop by drop, upon this heart
Over the crimson boiling
Throwing the meters off the charts
Sending my conscious toiling
Into the scars of my soul, they leak
Chasing the light, recoiling

Out of the shadows, in it leaks
Rumbling outside the door
Breaking the hinges, in it flows
Flooding into my core
Silent the rushing rapids cease
Hearing them crash no more
But never the rising tides recede
Building forevermore
