Existence

Simplicity.
Spontaneity.
Play.

Three words with spark
they alternately pop out my mind
aware not of the dark
I toddle my way home, a sign.

The air was cooler than usual
silent breeze was kissing my skin
like a long lost pal.

I could also hear the rustling
of dried leaves rolling off this empty street
and the robust leaves’ tender swishing
cuddled by the trees’ branches so sweet.

There were the nocturnal insects
singing in harmony
with the gentle tunes by nature treks.

Streetlamps alight, tricycles are rare
only a few people walk around the site
some murmurs from unlocked windows I stare
giggles of kids running about my sight
silence predominates the fair.

I walked slower than my usual pace
decided to close my eyes
and savor the breeze against my face.

Then a melodious unity of sounds in my ear
and the darkness, some tint of light
getting through my shut eyes, so near.

There was the scent of some smoke
combined with the aroma of rich vegetation
found their way to my nostrils, didn’t choke.

This made my tummy rumble like a gang
then suddenly, even without any food fed
I got to taste some bitter-sweet tang.

The sensation of my feet, even with my shoes on
felt bare with the occasional presence of pebbles
crumbling like music, its beat in simpleton.

And the impression I get in my being
from the simplicity of my stride
from the spontaneity of my feeling
from the hint of play on my side,
…is my EXISTENCE!

I really am alive.
I can feel.
I can see.
I can hear.
I can smell.
I can taste.
I am one with God’s creation.

God too is with me.
I am never alone.
Even in a seemingly deserted place,
I have company.

There is God in all that is there.
He is the breeze.
He is in the leaves, robust or dried ones.
He is in every vegetation that grows,
along the streets or in fertile ground.
He is the pebbles, stones and rocks.
He is the nocturnal animals
that sometimes scare me.

Now even the starless sky tells me
He is there.
The earth I step on is He.
He is the road I travel every night.
And all other roads I take.
My existence is not coincidental.
He created me.
I am special
because a God resides in me.

Simplicity.
Spontaneity.
Play.

P.S.
Try them.
They won’t harm you.
