Pathway
What will you be
as the eternal flame
sits in it''s candle holder
waiting to reveal the next mystery?
Shall you be dormant
as the dusty books,
once read,
sit upon their shelf
waiting to be picked up
and it's lines re-read
Shall you use the light
to brighten the way
of a new path
that awaits your walking
on any given day
Or,
Lay docile
as the days and weeks
swiftly pass
wondering if you should walk, run
or ignore the prominent path.

My answer..
I will pick up the candle and let it light my way..
I will recall the messages and inspirations I gathered from my reading
and I will move forward confidently, as life is short enough and every new opportunity may be... " life changing ".
To sit dormant, I think, is to wither away... even the trees in the forest move ever upward, though thwarted by the seasons, they reclaim their strength and push even higher the next year....
Fine writing and good thoughts to ponder..

there is no real answer. The question in the poem are reflection but stating to follow the obvious - "prominent" path...it was understood and that was all I wanted. thanks. (the plans for the near future, are to move to the mountains!)
