HERE AND THERE

If I could go;
from here to there.
In an instant.
Quicker than light.
Then I would leave.
You here,
and go
there.
Then not being here.
I wouldn't hear,
you say.
Goodbye.
But, if my speed
was quicker than light.
I might arrive before
we fought.
And could I bear
to be here.
With you there
lost.
And me knowing,
I could be there.
To say.
I'm sorry.
and therefore there,
would be no need.
To leave and
be here. Instead
of there, where
you are.
Then you nor I
would never need,
to ever be,
Somewhere else

too bad we can't take back the moments...

I guess the best we can do is apologize - if the other is willing to do the same. Very thoughtful and sad poem. I enjoyed thinking about it and feeling the emotions entwined with the logic. Great one!
