Adrift on the Sea of Time
How soon the tide of life
returns to the sea of time,
leaving in it's wake
mere traces of a sign,
that points to thoughts of wonder
where the spirit may yet sail,
beyond the storms of living,
safe from mortal gale.
Yet in our feeble shells
along this endless shore,
we dream beyond horizons
in search of even more.
The wonder of this endless sea
fills my soul with awe,
for this was merely break water,
these moments that I saw!

I am wonderous at the sea and visit it often since I live on an island. Though you make reference to time as this sea I think more along the lines as life as the vast ocean that we as mere bait fish spend a brief moment, being ever so lucky to reach the surface to see the sun reflecting brilliantly off its cresting waves.
