The Simple Truth

You believe, because you see no sorrow,
the sorrow isn't there.
Because you feel no pain,
there is no pain to share.
Yet Beyond your blinded sight,
there are sorrows that abound.
Beyond your dulling senses,
is a pain you've not yet found.
For all your pomp and arrogance
you loose sight of simple truth,
as the knowledge of the aged
is lost to arrant youth.
But youth shall one day age
and knowledge settle in,
it's at that time that healing
shall earnestly begin.
Woe to those who never age,
yet in their arrant youth,
belittle times experience
and miss the simple truth.

interesting poem, thoughtful. Each generation I suppose has to find their own wisdom, we can try to guide them and hope they hear. raskin

Thank you

Thanks for taking the time to read my work, I appreciate it. It has less to do with generations however, than with perceptions. In this case wisdom has to do with experience, which of course takes some time, but it is more the experience.
