Life's March
Everyone is marching,
I am cowering.
Surrounded by millions watching,
Yet I am all alone.
They are moving forward,
and I am standing still,
Ahead me lies horror,
and I have not the will.
Chase away this sunlight,
I am but a disease,
I dare not put up a fight,
I lay down arms with ease.
Take away my eyes,
Take away my feet,
Hide my ears from all the lies,
Of all the marchers down this street.
I said I have not the will,
By this I did tell fact,
Someone has already come in for the kill,
And stabbed me in the back.
I have waited for you,
Even though you have long since passed me by,
With naught left for me to do,
I do happily lay down here to die.
