When I look into the mirror
and gaze upon this ageing face-
it suddenly occurs to me
it’s not the one you might recall,
from a far distant time and place.

But I have a mental image
of your lovely youthful face-
it will be forever ageless,
unless we should meet again,
that time cannot change or erase.

But if we never meet again
before I leave this earthly space-
how then can I ever know-
is it really you I still love-
or just an image of a face?
