In Remembrance of Storm

Your zest for life was bountiful, effervescent
as warm champagne, you arrived on the scene
like a tornado, and that is how you happened
to come by your name.
You were shared with us for such a little
while, from about eight months to just shy of
age three. Your peevish antics could make
me angry, or just as often make me smile.
How could your loss after so short a time, cause
so much pain for me?
You were the friend as yet unknown, when
God called, come Buck time to go, who did
come to live with us, to love and name and
share our home. How could it be that the same
sad day would return so soon, and that once
again we would have to say adieu.
Though you were not another Buck tis true,
in your own way you were just as unique as he,
and likewise we can say, there will never be
another you. While in life each other you never
knew you now sleep side by side in death
beneath the morning dew.
