A “Poets” Dilemma
I have been advised at times by poets who mean well-
that many of my poems are just to dad-gum concise.
I am told they have too few words to be me mysterious and deep-
and that their wording is just too terribly precise.
If this is so, as well it might be-
I guess it’s just the teacher in me.
But I would suggest that if they take the time-
to read more careful between the lines-
a deeper meaning too many they might see.

Great
I do not find it "deep" to obscure what one says with dribble and beat-around-the-bush nonsense. To me, that which is deepest is that which communicates most effectively.
This is well done, and I agree with you completely. The best writers of all time were also the easiest to read.

Thank you very much, I appreciate your comments. However in all seriousness, I am aware of my limitations.
Thanks again.
Curtis I love concise and
Curtis I love concise and simply written poetry. IMO too many try to be more difficult to understand, as if it makes them more brilliant or something. The goal of a poet is to touch the reader and to touch him or herself in the process as well.
