A Light Goodbye

She put lipstick on my cheek;
I pecked her back, then climbed
aboard. I watched her getting smaller
on the platform as I leaned out

in my nostrils, then a kilted Scot
lit up his pipe and the last hint of her
was smothered by Mac Barren.
