The Proud Thespian
:
Theatregoers queue
like wet grizzly bears;
up and down the line a busker
puddle hops
in tune with his fiddle.
A silver-haired
senior who’s not dressed in furs
pulls out her purse,
drops a note
and some change
into the monkey’s cap;
he already has
her number,
but hasn’t called
since he dropped off the bill.
