It should have been me

I hear the pretty women say,
I need a man who I can trust,
not just one, who is full of lust.
One who will honor and comfort me,
one who will make, the perfect family.
A man with pride, a man who cares,
a man who's heart, he will share,
with no one else, only me, is that too much,
for a woman to need?
I've told these women time and time again,
that I am here, but just as your friend.
If these women could only see,
that right before them is, their perfect family.
I'm the one that you can trust,
the one that will need, only you to lust.
The one cares so deep inside,
the one who has, that certain pride,
the one who wants a family,
the one who will, never be.
And with that said,
It should have been me!
