Courage and String
Remember back,
When you were young,
Endless days
Of summer sun.
Adventures had
In fields of green,
Climbing trees,
To make a swing.
Lighting fires,
To make your meals,
Undercooked meat,
That made you ill.
Washed down with
A bottle of coke,
Laugh some more,
At a shared joke.
Build a den
With wood you found,
All inside,
Safe and sound.
Making plans
For warriors and knights,
With bravery
You'll win your fights.
Ride your bike,
That is your steed,
Across the green
With skill and speed.
Returning to
Your den at last,
To plan
Your next adventure fast.
Build a bridge,
Across the stream,
With wood and rope
And courage and string.
Someone fell,
Got soaked to the skin,
Start a fire
To dry their things.
Later on,
As sunlight fades,
Still warm
In the evening shade.
Time to go
Your seperate ways,
Return tomorrow,
For adventure days.
