Lost Game
I've seen the words that you write,
When you sit up late at night,
And I know that I'm gonna lose you again
What's this stuff happening to me?
That's making you want to break free,
Life with you gone, just won't be the same
We've been through so much, so fast,
I never thought it wouldn't last,
But someone else has changed the rules of the game
I hope he takes care of you,
And loves you, like I wanted to,
I wake at nights, calling your name
And when he touches your hand,
I hope that he understands,
That I was wrong and I am to blame
I took you for granted I know,
People kept telling me so,
But I never knew I could live with such pain
While you're making love through the night,
Squeezing and holding him tight,
I know that what I will do is insane
But darling it's better this way,
I just can't face another day,
Knowing you're laying enclosed in his arms
I'm gonna walk up to the bridge,
I'm gonna stand, on the edge, on the ridge,
And I'm gonna look down below, at the lanes
I'm gonna land in lane number three,
The traffic there's faster you see,
And I'll never cause trouble for you again.
