Poetic License/Freedom/Choices/Justice
Rules if you want them,
If you don't, then just ignore.
Poetic license.
Write what you want to,
Formats are unlimited,
Poetic freedom.
Picking out the words,
Combinations seem endless,
Poetic choices.
Carefully chosen,
Words to shame the guilty man,
Poetic justice

Interesting and bold thoughts David
I'm guessing that if you throw out all the rules poetry as we've come to know it would be radically different and I'm not sure I would be able to relate to that. Your thoughts and ideas are yours and you can espouse them any way you choose.
Pete
Just thoughts,
Thats all. I would never suggest that everyone should just bin all poetry rules, but it's great to have the choice and freedom to write about whatever, however you like. I like both, that is, sometimes trying to keep to the rules and sometimes (more often than not) no rules.
Dave
Poetic Freedom..
Just write from the heart, and see where it leads you. Forget the rules.
DEbs :.)
I Agree!
Just let it out and see where you end up! Thanks for reading Debs,
Dave
Nice Write Dave!!!
And I love the message. And I just LOVE how you put your words together, in everything you write.
I just write from my heart, mostly. I dont know any other way... but it feels right to me. That's what I love about Poetry. There really isnt any right or wrong.
Thanks Dave, I enjoyed this Haiku of yours very much.

Thanks Linda
For such a flattering comment! Thank you.
I think that you do sometimes write from your heart, and they are touching and loving pieces, but I think that you also write from another part of your anatomy on occasion!Lol. And that's good too!
Dave
Yes, Dave, That's for sure!
You're so right about that!!!
LOL

Dave
amazing how much work it takes...
to write even a "free" verse poem. Each genre of poem has its own challenges! I like all you haiku's, Dave. I think of poetic license in another sense, too, as in allowing you to use facts or words loosely - not always adhering to the truth or the dictionary! I know it's hard to do this stuff, so bravo!

Thank You Joyce
For your kind words, and thank you for reading and sharing your thoughts,
