Nice little vignette of the pooch. Are you sure she asks for nothing? LOL.
My only issue is that it's not a haiku proper, and you likely had that in mind -- and if you hadn't tagged it as a haiku I wouldn't spout about it, being the proper quiet little darling that I am (LOL). I'm pretty sure haikus are usually 5,7,5 syllables.
Nonetheless, this makes me smile. Who can't love a dog? Thanks for the read.
Dave, is Sophie your dog? I love the thought of her and love to give her a great big pat on that scruffy, raggy head! Dogs are the best!
Linda
ps, please tell me its a dog....omg..
I'm kind of adjusting the form of the tanka to suit myself at this time. I figure, who really cares - as long as it works. I think it's more interesting. In fact, one expert that I read said that since the Japanese language is so different from English that Americans are allowed to kind of invent their own rules - so I do, and "So Can You!", a la the illustrious Stephen Colbert - whom you must know by now is one of my favorites. Of course, being from England you may never have seen him on the Comedy channel. He is a delight!
Thanks for delighting us all with your work, David.

Thanks for your comments, I didn't know it was supposed to be 5,7,5 syllables, lack of education again!Ha ha. I really will have to try harder,
