I Will Love Again

As I sit here serving ice-cream
To my customers so few,
I think of brighter times
Which my mind brings into view.

Of times when I was happy
And had someone to serve,
And someone to give to,
Who I really don’t deserve.

I miss having someone to
Be a companion to,
To share with and to cuddle,
And say, “I do love you.”

How I have a yearning to be
With her whom my soul loves!
But alas, I am learning to
Depend on God above.

For He’s my only peace
Until that blessed day
When He brings to me a help-mate;
My soul-mate, who I pray

Will let me love her fully,
With all my heart and soul,
Who’ll let me make her happy
And make her joy cup full.

Yes, one day, it will happen.
I will love again,
And perhaps, be loved too
‘til all of time will end.

Sweet

This form is sweeter than usual, because you brought ice-cream into the picture!
