It's Not Too Late

Verse 1
It seems, not so long ago,
That people appreciated art.
It seems, not so long ago,
That our lives weren't far apart.

Chorus 1
Where did it all go, the time together,
When we were young and loved each other?
Is it too late to love again?
Are simple pleasures gone forever?

Verse 2
We used to laugh so easily
Like water flowing down a slide.
You used to run so gracefully
And flow back and forth with the tide.

(Repeat Chorus 1)

Verse 3
You once could smile a storm away
And thunder sounded like a laugh.
The rain was inviting as the sun;
Ne'r worried of cold or draft.

(Repeat Chorus 1)

Chorus 2
Now time has gone, and hidden well.
Sadness seems to have cast its spell.
How do I reach inside your soul
And find all the joy that made you whole?

(musical interlude)

Verse 4
Once we were young, happy and free;
All of our goals ahead.
Where did it go? Is it too late?
Why must we give in to dread?

Finale
We don't! It isn't too late!
I refuse to give in to everyone's fate!
I'll rise up again, back like the tide.
And I'll see you in happiness abide
With me.

You can be free
Again with me.
The day is here.
Oh, can't you see?

We can be carefree and notice what's small.
We can enjoy our time in the fall.
Beauty is found, if you just look
At what you have; a life worth a book!
We are free.
