Let It Be Real
In the old rhyme
I heard as a child
Of rowing a boat
So gently and mild,
There was a line
That seemed so keen;
That life was but
A simple dream.
And yet so many
Folks, it seems,
Give up on life;
Fulfilling their dreams.
When bad things happen
And pressure arises,
And when life seems
So full of surprises,
That does not mean
Your dream is dead.
Nor does it mean
What you may dread.
When your head goes
Under water,
It doesn't mean
That there's no air.
It's all still there,
Waiting and quiet
For when you rise
Again to try it.
Your dream does not
Die with hard times,
But merely awaits
For you to arise.
You don't have to drown
Just 'cause you're under.
Just hold your breath
A little bit longer.
You soon will surface!
You will arise!
You will be able
To open your eyes;
To live again
In the sunshine,
With golden rays
Filling your time!
Do not give up
Or let your dream
Be shuffled out
And not redeem,
But let it come
And surface again,
And be more than
You could imagine!
Let it be real.
Let it come true.
It's just waiting right
Inside of you.
