My Heaven

There is a heaven
That can be found
In this life right here on earth.
Though I would have argued
And not believed
In something of that much worth.

But then came a taste;
A single taste
Of this heaven that can be found
I can no longer
Live my humdrum
Life on the same old ground.

How can one ever
Enjoy the smell of
Any little flower that grows,
After smelling
The ever sweet
Fragrance of a sweet new rose?

How can one enjoy
A city sky
After a clear night's starry glow
Or a gold pot
After seeing the
Treasure under the rainbow?

I have seen heaven,
And felt its touch,
And this earth is drab and dull
When apart from
The amazing
Touch of that heaven so full!

I have found heaven
On earth. It is real
The most glorious and bright place!
It's wonderful,
And it is in
Your arms that I found it at last!

I love you my
One and only,
My heaven and moon and stars!
I love you my
Bright red rose
Who took me beyond the par!

And nothing that
God has created
Will ever compare to you!
For earth has no
Heavenly body
Except, my love, for you.
