Oh How Silent

Oh how silent,
The heart that cries out.
Oh how quiet,
The lonely plea.

And how loud
Is that awkward silence
I hear your heart
Yelling to me.

In your silent
Mis-hopes, despair,
And stares so empty
Into the air,

I see strong turmoil
Boiling inside.
I see the war
Happening there.

How can I reach
Into that chaos
And show you the peace
That sets you free?

How can I say
To that big storm,
"Be calm and shed light,"
So you can then see?

Peace does exist
And you can know it!
It's not far away;
Just reach out your hand.

Stretch forth from all
Your strife within!
Take my hand now.
Know joy in your land!

I won't disappoint you.
I won't let you down.
All that I am,
I give you today.

The happiness that
Comes from within
Is yours now to share;
You have but to pray.
