Oh what to write
When one has a headache!
The mind’s a constant block;
And empty, deep dark lake.

Just a single thought-
Is that too much to ask?
Just for one idea-
Is that so hard a task?

A deadline is approaching
To put new words on paper,
And others do not know
Your thoughts may have a damper.

Creativity
Seems all at a halt.
But how to explain
That “It’s not my fault”?

And so you sit and write
With that far-off hope
That something will come out
That isn’t just a mope.

You want to go inspire
All the world around!
But this stupid headache
Hides what words you’ve found!

You write and write and write,
And when your pen completes,
You look; lo and behold,
You’ve made a masterpiece!
