What The Clown Knows

The clown grinned so broadly
As kids broke out in laughter!
The master harlequin
Brought spirit to the rafter!

So jolly and so fun,
His ballanced act of folly.
He seemed so nonchalant
And yet alive and jolly!

A photographer approached,
His objective clear;
But the silly little clown
Dodged as if in fear.

It seemed an oxymoron
That he should perform
In front of all those children,
But photos he should scorn.

It was laughable how
He hid his funny face,
Then peaked through opened fingers
At the lens with grace.

Not many people know
What his real job is,
And how he is the best
At stopping lots of stress.

The laughter is support
For all who need relief;
A sort of therapy
He brings to folks in brief.

An axiom in life
That he knows so well
Is when a person laughs,
They escape from all their hell.

Their troubles disappear
With just a little twinkle.
It's healing that he sells
When the laughs he sprinkles.

So when you see a clown
Full of fun and folly,
Smile and laugh alloud -
Your stress will leave, by golly!
