How about a date tonight he whispers in my ears.
He still wants me after all these years.
All day I think of what we will do,
Anticipating his arrival, he hasn't a clue.

It sounds as though you planned the evening out just fine and I'm sure that a good time was had by all.
One suggestion my friend, In line 7 I would change respite (which is pronounced res spit) to delight and then you will have your rhyme with line 8.
