Dissappointment

Dissappointment

by Debborah Jensen

It creeps in even though circumstances cannot be altered.

Registers on the face as a sour look, like someone just ate a lemon.

It's a black sinister feeling that wraps it's tendrils around your mind.

It poisons joy and makes you angry for feeling dissappointed.

Is it a feeling unto itself, dissappointed,

Or is it a myriad of emotions that tumble in the blender of your mind?

Poured into a glass, add salt around the rim, but it isn't satisfying like a margarita.

It's more like sour milk, curdled and lumpy on your mind, and you just want to get away from it.

I have dissappointed my family, they have dissppointed me.

It's the scars you leave on each other in the process of family.

It creeps in even through circumstances that can't be altered, we always wish it was different so we wouldn't have to feel dissappointed.
