Just Around the Bend

Friends are never forever, my experience says.
Only in the hallmark world do they stay till the end.

This path we walk is lonely, they take, and then they go.
I don't expect forever anymore, they say it just for show.

I will never leave you, I love you till the end.
The end is always sooner, it's just around the bend.

We love because it's our purpose, nothing do we get.
We are the font that love flows from, our path is firmly set.

I don't leave they do, I told you this before.
We are a conduit a passage, not a destination, but a door.

So know this my dear friend, I do love you.
They all may leave, but I don't, you know what I say is true.
