Perfect

Perfect

by Debborah Jensen

Please don't call me perfect,

Please don't call me strong.

Don't put your labels on my head,

So I can't have my own song.

Because if I am perfect,

like you think I should be.

Then where is my personal space?

When can I be me?

I make many mistakes,

Have things I'm not proud of.

But it is my life after all,

I only should be judged by love.

But here I've hurt you and never ment to,

the alternative was harder

disrupt more than a few.

Your opinion of me not what it was,

and now I'm sad a blue.

So I will bow to your view ,

Perfect and strong am I

So that I may keep and win your love,

I will live this lie.
