The Filler

The Filler

By Debborah Jensen

The game sucked him in never saw him again.

Now it's his companion, his best friend.

The boyfriend sucked her in never saw her again.

Now he's her world, her best friend.

The job comes first more important than you.

Why I'm so disposable, I haven't a clue.

At one fair time we talked all the day.

Now I'm an obligation that gets in your way.

Well I know when I'm out and someones taken my place.

Just once I wish they would say it to my face.

You were the filler till something better arrived,

Once it did I'm done realize.

But they still say I'm so important to them,

I'm number one their best friend.

The truth is the game, job and boyfriend now take that place.

I see it everytime I look at your face.
