The Night is my Friend
The night is my friend.
Quiet Serene
No phone, responsibilities
Just me and the cat
Nocturnal creatures of the night
Hunting for our lives in dark corners
I write mine on paper
She puts hers in my shoe
Dead mice, a present for me
She is fulfilled, she does her job
I do mine by flashlight
Writing emotions, thoughts
Life for others to see, feel experience
My gift to them, my job
I am fulfilled and emptied
all emotion down on paper
4am sleepy, all poetry purged,
out of my mind
I can now sleep. Goodnight
My good night friend.

hey debs that didn't really
hey debs that didn't really make much sense to me what was your poem about?
Me and my cat
What you think about, you bring about.
Dear JC,
It's about my cat and I doing our respective jobs, me writing poetry, and her catching mice, which she summarily puts in my shoe. I don't know I thought it was pretty straightforward. Perhaps you have some suggestions on how to make it clearer? Thanks for the comment, I love feed back.
Sincerely,
Debborah
