“As Son of God I must
“Decline belief in Christ.
“I shall accept him as
“A man of moral worth.
“I shall accept him as
“A man whose words held truth.
“But claims to be the Christ
“I must declare a myth.”

“When Christ said he forgave our sins
“He thus said, ‘I am God Himself’.
“For God alone is always hurt
“By sin, because He laid the Law.
“A man who makes this claim
“Can only be insane.
“So now, accept you Him
“As teacher, moral friend?

“He must be either God or lunatic.”
