The Dark Age of Africa II
The Dark Age of Africa II
No Lord, you have not left this place;
As some profess.
I see you still, from time to time:
In ready smiles,
And helping hands of many hues.
In social bonds.
But when the headlines lash our ears,
When feuds to violence flare,
When laws unjust are passed,
When evil deeds escape the light:
Can we be blamed?
For asking – for shouting:
Why! ...
And: where are You?
Behold: we live like infant beasts,
By claw and cry;
And buried deep:
That gift.
