Dark Age of Africa III

For what design did You let us,
Be born into this troubled place?
To curse, to hate,
Day in – day out?

We all can list the ills that plague this place,
Selfish leaders,
Ancient hatreds,
Inertia,
Indifference,
Poverty,
Etc, etc…

Let us do more than understand.
What can we do? What shall we do?

Not every hurt can I address,
And yet by heart compelled to try.

This place is home,
Its plagues are mine.
