Everyday Lies

Silent in a corner she sits
Afraid to venture forth
And participate joyfully
In the prevailing mirth

Her monosyllabic answers
Are without inflection
Not wanting to be judged
By her answer selection

Others are being bright
Trying hard to fit in
But back home tonight
Reality will set in

“Why is it that I don’t conform?”
She muses and then sighs
“It’s because I can discern
Truth from everyday lies”

Wow Dolan, Marvelous point

This was a very engaging and well thought out poem, you should be proud.

This is intuitive...like it

This is intuitive...like it very much

Lots of girls like her

Thanks Mimi and Pete for your responses. Unfortunately such girls who have much to offer in terms of sincerity and hard work don't make it up the corporate ladder.

They have my admiration and respect
