Why they call us Armenian
A proud people awaiting glory
In their hearts holding my life story
Forever strong we shall stay
For the crime committed they shall pay
Centuries past and we’re still here
To distill fear, from enemies that get near
You can’t hide the truth with lies
You can’t ignore 1.5 million cries
From Mount Ararat to Sevan
We turned our heads and all was gone
From Istanbul to the Caspian Sea
They swung their swords so violently
From the deserts of Syria to the Arax river
Stories of skull pyramids make me shiver
But still we stand proud and tall
For we’re still here and we have it all
They could take our lands and take our wealth
They could take our happiness and our health
But one thing that will get all that returned
Is the pride in us which they have not burned
It’s because we take a stand
And not bow down to their command
The truth is the truth and it can’t be changed
Even after all these years, I’m still enraged
I look forward for the day to come
When I stand in our lands and know we’ve won
I chant “Armenian Pride!”
Because an Armenian spirit can never die

History Lesson
Just in case there are others who don't know let me clarify something.
In 1915 as WW1 was underway, genocide took place. The first genocide of the 20th century; Armenian men, women, and children were slaughtered, tortured, mutilated, starved, annihilated by their government. The new Turkish government was trying to eliminate the Christian population to clean out Turkey. They drafted Armenians to fight in the war then sent them to death/labor camps. Some were taken out into the hot desert only to collapse from the heat and if not that then they were bayoneted or violently beheaded. The Turkish government declared: "...Our government has been compelled to undertake extraordinary measures and sacrifices and is obligated to deport the Armenian population to the interior provinces...”
I should have said something like this first, I am sorry. I think your poem shows that the Armenian culture is strong. It is skillfully written.
I believe that people should be free from all religious persecution.
